My daughter, Ellis, turned 1 on 4/6. Time has passed me by as I’ve tried to burn the memories of our first year as a family of three into my mind. I’ve tried to write it all down – journal it all so I won’t forget what she was like as a brand new little babe. So I won’t forget all the firsts she’s accomplished in 1 year. Her first word (doggie), first step (10 months), first teeth (6 months), first foods (4 months), first night at home with us. Tried to write it all down so Josh and I will have something to read years down the road to remember how tired we were, how lost we felt at times and how we stuck together, made the best decisions we knew how and prayed it would all turn out alright. Tried to write it all down so we could look back and see the small victories+triumphs after all was said and done. Write it all down and remember it all so that one day I can pour it out to Ellis and hopefully she will understand just how deep our love goes. It reaches down to a place I didn’t even knew existed. I feel so excited to explore that place in my heart more as we head into another year with Ellis in our lives. xoxo
In honor of Ellis’s first birthday (and Josh’s 30th!) we had a party to celebrate. Here are some pictures from the day+weekend. We had a great time with many of our friends and family who came to celebrate! We had 16 people and 6 kids stay with us for the weekend and it was so much fun! These photos were taken by my AWESOME+talented long time friend, Jessie Kenney over @ Juneberry Photo. I will treasure them always.

Hello loves and happy Tuesday. Yesterday was a rainy lounge in your pajamas and eat soup kind of day so the Monday cutie had to wait. I’ve been going thru images from all of our 2012 weddings and I’m excited to put together a compilation for you. It will be fun to look back thru the year and see all of our designs in one post. I’m still waiting on photos from some photographers but for now here’s a few from Colleen+Carlos’s wedding back in June @ Denner Vineyards! Thanks to Allyson Magda for sharing these images with us. You can see her blog post of their wedding here.

Hello hello and happy fall! We’ve been so busy with our wedding season that blogging every week has become quite the challenge. Good news is that we’re about to wrap up our regular wedding season and will be coming at you with all sorts of gorgeous posts from this year’s weddings. While I love working with my fabulous clients, being creative every week and keeping busy, I must admit I’m terribly excited for a break! I’m looking forward to regrouping and working on some creative planning for April Flowers!
For now, I’m so happy to share Brynn+Daniel’s fete with you. Brynn is just about the sweetest person I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. She is also the genius behind the blog chartreuse and a twist and I knew working with her was going to be a blast with some gorgeous results! Our brainstorming convos were filled with laughter, creative ideas and talk of lots of bright pretty florals. Their wedding was chalk full of punchy colors, personal details and lots of LOVE. While I’m usually done and gone from the venue before the ceremony takes place, this time, I was needed to stay and help transform the ceremony area into the dinner space. This means I was able to stay and witness Brynn+Daniel tie the knot and I’m SO glad I was there! Moments before Brynn descended the stairs to meet her groom our eyes caught and we shared a smile…she was all alone at the top of the stairs and it was such a special moment for me…sharing in the excitement that she was feeling and giving her a comforting nod. I will never forget that moment…thanks for sharing it with me Brynn!
This fete was perfect from top to bottom with an A-team of vendors to pull it all together. Zenaida Cellars is quaint but filled with charm and the staff there are awesome! Thomas Hill Organics provided the noshes – they are ridiculous – enough said! Jenny over at Cake Cathedral delivered some seriously yummy sweets and many, many thanks to Allyson Magda Photography for sharing these gorgeous images with us. Allyson is kinda a big deal…she shot Mark Zukerberg’s wedding….yes, true story.
Happy Monday friends! Hope you’re all enjoying the lovely Labor Day holiday. It’s been very busy for us lately and finding time to keep up with the blog has been a challenge! We are in the home stretch to the end of wedding season and it feels bitter sweet. I’m excited for the fall, scarf+boot wearing weather, the holidays and homemade soup…but…will be sad to say goodbye to the warm summer evenings, BBQ’s, tank tops and of course all of our lovely weddings each weekend. We have 7 weeks and 10 events left in our regular wedding season – keep your eyes open for those lovely weddings featured on future Monday cuties! For now, here’s a beautiful wedding that was featured on Style Unveiled recently. See the full post here! Don’t you love the pretty purple details!? Thanks to the fantastic Cameron Ingalls for the photos – AWE-some as always!
Happy Monday flower lovers!
A few Monday’s back I was so happy to share Shelley+Clayton’s gorgeous wedding on the Monday cutie…see that post here and now I’m thrilled to share it again, this time along with a front page feature on Style Me Pretty! This particular fete is near and dear to my heart for a few reasons. #1. Shelley+Clayton are darling. It was truly a pleasure to work with them. They are the kind of clients I wish lived here in SLO because we could be great friends. #2. The details of this wedding reign supreme. From the veil, to the fabric draping, bright florals and special touches. I could eat it all up! #3. This was the last wedding I installed before my sweet little Ellis was here. Shelley+Clayton’s wedding was March 24th and I was due April 1st (although she didn’t arrive until April 6th – ha) so you can try and imagine me 9 months pregnant pointing here and there to direct the installation. It was one I’ll remember always. Please take a moment to check out this beautiful feature here and leave some love. xo
